On July 20th, 1969, humanity made a giant leap in space exploration when the American astronauts, Neil A. Armstrong and Edwin E. Aldrin landed on the Moon. The Astronauts were part of the NASA famous Apollo 11 mission, which also included astronaut Michael Collins. Collins was the Command Module Pilot, and he stayed in the Moon orbit. Apollo 11 was a 9-day mission that accomplished the goal set forth by President John F. Kennedy, to land humans onto the Moon surface and return them to Earth safely.
